ExcAl Strikes Again

Very happy with progress on using MYSQL to extract data on orders and products to spreadsheet. This tool should help keep track of stock levels, help keep them maintained, monitor faster-moving items and Patterns of Business Activity*

Google…

has  found our site, hopefully with more work it will find lots of it interesting. Time to give some thought to SEO.

3..2..1..Contact!

From the land of my fathers (West Midlands) I have updated the Privacy details and drafted the Contact page.

After my long trip back from Scotland last night,  taking gifts of door chime (working), cooking pans (anodised) and dictaphone (for memoirs), I have been enjoying a somewhat sedate day today…

Keeping things to ourselves

today’s task was to write the Privacy Policy – to demonstrate to our customers that we value your custom and will treat your personal information with the respect it deserves. Mr Stitchy who is away is going to review what I’ve written and smooth it out as he is so good at things like that.

Today I went with my son to the local Sixth Form College to discuss the A-Levels he wanted to do and the support he will get as his statement of special educational needs falls by the wayside once he leaves secondary education. It was fascinating and I was very impressed by the courses and resources on offer.

Give me Markinch and I’ll take a mile

This week I am mostly away from the shop (and, to be honest, most of the work associated with the site, too) travelling and training some lovely IT people at a local government organization in Fife, Scotland.

Perhaps one day I’ll combine the IT courses with stitching?

Sadly the weather here in mid-November is currently what the locals would only describe as ’dreich’

The power of the internet means I can at least assist with the Shipping & Returns policy :)

Mr Stitchy.

Shipping is the task of the day…

Writing out the shipping terms and conditions and installing the Royal Mail modules so that customers can choose their shipping method. Mrs Stitchy wishes she were stitching to be honest as some of this technical stuff is a little taxing! Thank goodness for geek-a-rific sons who think this is fun…

Mrs Stitchy.

After 4 days of work…

much has been achieved. The site has a blog and a photo gallery. The store part has also been installed and is coming along but there will be lots more tweaks before we open to the public.

We have created a logo and sorted out the VAT element on the store.

Welcome to Sew Stitchy

We are building our online store and wanted to share some of our progress with you. At the end of this process we hope to have a store full of luscious goodies that stitchers love because we are stitchers ourselves!

Please join us on our journey and if there is anything you think we can do or add to make this a better site, please leave a comment.
